Caramel & Walnut Baked Brie

Years ago, I worked for a few different catering companies (really I don’t know what job I haven’t had at this point LOL!), anyways, I picked up a few recipes over the years that were hits at every party. I remember being so busy during the holiday season with events that it seemed like I did a lot of catering and events, but didn’t get to really enjoy much of the season. One of my favorite things about holiday events were when attendees would rave about the food. I also always thought the food was incredible so we bonded over it.

My absolute favorite holiday staple I learned from catering was a Baked Brie. For catering they were huge, and so yummy! One year, I decided I would try one of my own because “how hard could it be?!”…. well I think I had first attempt at Baked Brie at Thanksgiving that I was invited too…. Little did I know, I didn’t put enough pie crust around the Brie, and had a HUGE mess in the oven. Thankfully, I was the only one who knew how it was supposed to turn out so I acted like it was absolute perfect. Fake it until make it.

Really though, try not to do that even though it’s super easy to do. It

Caramel & Walnut Bake Brie Ingredients

1 wheel of brie cheese

1 box of pie crust( it should have 2 in it)

1/3 cup caramel sauce

1/3 cup walnuts

1/4 cup brown sugar

Apple slices

Crackers

Cookie cutter for the holiday (option)

Caramel & Walnut Bake Brie Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil to ease the clean up.

  2. Open a pie crust and lay it flat. Place your brie cheese in the center and cover with caramel sauce, walnuts, and brown sugar. Pull up the sides of the pie crust so it holds all of the caramel, walnuts, and brown sugar inside, pinch together the edges. (Watch the video)

  3. Place the other pie crust over the brie, and fold the pie crusts together. You want to think of this as holding everything inside as it cooks. This is super tricky to not have any leaks (if you have leaks it’s totally fine just not as cute). If you have any extra pie crust, cut it off and you can use it as a topper.

  4. If you decided to make a topper, like I do in the video, flatten the pie crust and cut it with a cookie cutter for whichever holiday you are making this for. Place the topper right on top.

  5. Place your brie on your cookie sheet, and bake for 30 minutes.

  6. While your brie cooks, slice apples to serve with your brie.

  7. Remove the brie from the oven, and transfer to a serving dish. Allow the brie to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Best if served with crackers and apple slices.

Happy Baking! If you make this recipe, I would love to know! Make sure to tag me on Instagram or send me a DM.
