Fun Fill Weekend
Recently, Sydney and I had fun filled weekend of Miss Colorado USA and Miss Colorado Teen USA events. (If you aren’t familiar with Miss Colorado Teen USA, she won her title the same night I did. She is in an age division younger than me, and will compete at Miss Teen USA. Her name is Sydney Boehler. You will see her in numerous posts of mine and referenced frequently.)
On Friday, November 30th, we had the honor of walking in the 9News Denver Parade of Lights with Donate Life Colorado. I had never been in a parade of this caliber so I was super excited for this opportunity. I layered on many clothes because it was a chilly evening in Denver with snow in the forecast. The parade goes on regardless of weather. I think I had on 6 tops on including my coat, I don’t like to be cold.
Meeting everyone who walked with Donate Life was such a treat. Everyone had a unique story on their connection to Donate Life. It was very touching to hear all the stories of organ donation and donor recipients. There are many ways to get involved with Donate Life Colorado. On Saturday, we traveled to Castle Rock for another fun filled event. We had the privilege of being a judges for a Little Miss and Mister Christmas Pageant. Judging is such a different side to pageantry that I have only experienced one other time. I absolutely love to judge. I did not compete in pageants before the age of 18 so judging younger pageants gives me the opportunity to really learn what it is all about and boy oh boy is it fun. It was amazing to see watch young boys and girls strut their stuff with such confidence. It has taken me years to learn and grow into a confident young woman. I really admire that a someone as young as 4 years old is as confident as I am.
It makes my heart so happy to experience events such as both of the events from this past weekend. I am so grateful everyday for the job of Miss Colorado USA 2019.
